There are exactly 676 possible two-letter combinations from AA to ZZ. 676 gives each combination one position in a finite collection. Each pair can be claimed once. Read more on the About page.

676 is the work of Ed Henderson. Legally, it runs through Neep, an ordinary UK partnership. See the Terms for the small print.

Your pair gets its own square in the 676 grid, its own pair page, your chosen colour, your display name, a short description and one external link. There are no images, avatars or complicated page layouts.

No. Claiming ED does not give you ownership of the letters E and D, a trademark, a domain name or other intellectual-property rights. You are claiming the ED position within 676.

Once your claim has been paid and confirmed, 676 will not sell that pair to another claimant.

No web service can honestly promise perpetual operation, but we intend to keep 676 running for as long as we possibly can. Our real commitment is narrower: once your pair is paid and confirmed, it won't be resold to someone else.

Choose an available pair and submit the claim form. Claims are reviewed manually. If yours is the first valid claim and is accepted, we will email you and reserve the pair while you pay.

676 is a static site, so another request may have been received shortly before yours. The first valid submission received has priority. Your pair becomes reserved when 676 acknowledges and accepts your claim.

The first valid submission timestamp gets priority. If the earlier claimant does not complete payment within their reservation window, the pair may become available to the next claimant.

Normally 48 hours from the point we acknowledge and accept your claim. If payment is not completed in that period, the pair may become available again.

If your claim is accepted, 676 sends you a Stripe invoice/payment link. You complete payment using Stripe's hosted payment page.

Claims are manually reviewed first. That avoids charging multiple people for the same pair and allows us to moderate submitted content before taking payment.

Some combinations are more distinctive or desirable than others, so prices vary. The price shown on each pair page is the price for that pair.

Once a valid claim is accepted, the price attached to that claim should be honoured for its reservation window.

No - prices are fixed to keep things fair and simple for everyone.

Yes, subject to manual review. There are no bulk discounts currently.

Yes. Choose one solid six-digit hex colour.

676 automatically chooses black or white lettering based on contrast against your chosen background.

No. Claimant colours are solid colours.

No. The letters and chosen colour are the visual identity.

Typically the coloured pair square, your display name, short description, external link if active and claimant/date metadata. The raw hex colour is not displayed.

No. There are no user accounts, passwords or dashboards.

Yes, within reason. Email us if you need an occasional update to your display name, description, colour or destination URL. Changes are handled manually.

No - once claimed, your pair is permanent.

Transfers and resale are not currently supported.

No. The URL must use HTTPS and comply with the site’s acceptable-use rules.

At minimum: illegal content, explicit sexual content, malware, phishing, scams/fraud, hate/extremist content, prohibited gambling, prohibited drug/weapons sales, impersonation and clear intellectual-property infringement.

676 may disable the outbound link. Your pair remains claimed. The page does not publicly label the link as suspended; the link simply stops appearing.

The pair itself is not automatically reserved for that company. However, you must not impersonate another person/company, falsely imply association or infringe their rights.

Not primarily. You are paying to claim one of 676 finite positions and give it your identity, colour and link.

No traffic level is guaranteed.

No SEO benefit is promised. Claimant outbound links are marked as sponsored.

No, unless you independently choose to put it into public content.

No. Submitting a claim does not automatically subscribe you to a newsletter.

Only information needed to process and administer claims, payments, moderation and reasonable updates. The Privacy Notice explains this in detail.

You can cancel for any reason within 14 days of your claim being confirmed, for a full refund - even if your page has already gone live. Email us and we'll take it down and free up the pair for somebody else.

For example: an earlier valid claim exists, prohibited content/link, fraud, impersonation, IP infringement, invalid HTTPS URL, or breach of the Terms.

Available - can be requested. Reserved - a valid claim has been accepted and payment is awaited. Claimed - payment has been received and the pair is no longer available.

The collection is complete. No additional two-letter pairs are added to 676.

There are no plans to expand the 676 inventory beyond its original 676 two-letter positions. Any future experiment would be separate.

Because there are only 676 possible pairs. Keeping moderation, invoicing and updates manual keeps the site itself simple, fast and reliable.
